HI, I’m AP! The HUMAN BEHIND PLANT-BASED & SLAYED.

Over the last two years, I've been working on becoming better at managing my anxiety and positively fueling myself on a physical and spiritual level. Although I am still learning, I've found the key is intentional consumption. Not just about what you eat, but everything you consume, from what you watch to what you listen to when you're not really listening. I'm learning that it all matters. I am excited to use Plant-Based & Slayed to take you on this journey of being more intentional about what I consume by sharing delicious recipes and helpful soul-care tips. 

 

About The BLOG.

I have always enjoyed eating food! In fact, I believe one of the greatest forms of self-care is eating amazing food that makes you feel your best. My decision to become plant-based was based on this belief...and a bet from my mom. Changing my eating habits wasn't as difficult as finding recipes I truly enjoyed making and eating. You know, the meals that make you dance in your chair when you're eating them. I was missing food that fueled my soul as well as my body. Noticing I was growing weary of this new lifestyle change, my family jumped with recipe recommendations that got my creativity flowing. Now, we are here! I am excited to share recipes that will fuel your body and soul.

Don't worry! This blog is not to "meat-shame" you into only eating plants. PlantBasedSlay provides "dancing in your chair" worthy plant-based recipes, wellness tips and insight into plant-based lifestyle for anyone interested or curious. From our Meatless Monday friends to those living the full vegan lifestyle to "I just want to see what you eat," I hope what you find here piques your interest and inspires you to incorporate more plants into your meals, be kind to yourself and take care of your body and soul.

I am the human behind Plant-Based & Slayed, but I am not the only human (or animal for that matter) pouring into this space. A big thank you to my unofficial sous chef and food stylist, Mama Paige. She is right by my side whether we are in the kitchen developing recipes or on the phone brainstorming podcast ideas. A big thank you to Papa Paige. He graciously shares many of his secret recipes with me to "veganize" and even a few of his own vegan recipes creations. Last but not least, so much gratitude for my sidekick - Kawhi. He is my pup and Chief Tasting Officer. If he attempts to steal the food I make, I know it is blog-worthy!
